Program Description


"Paying for College: Savings Vehicle Choices and Their Impact on Financial Aid" will explore the financial aid systems utilized by colleges and universities and review a number of common approaches to both saving for and paying for college.  The impact of various savings vehicles and asset ownership on the financial aid calculation will also be discussed, as will the difference between merit and need based aid.

 

About the Presenter

Jody R. King, CPA, JD, RLP®

Vice President  


Jody R. King joined Fiduciary Trust in 2005, where she integrates estate and financial planning with wealth management for high net worth families. Prior to joining Fiduciary, Ms. King was a Director at Northstar Advisors LLC and a Senior Manager in Ernst & Young LLP's Personal Financial Counseling Group.  At both Northstar and Ernst & Young she focused on sophisticated estate, financial, and tax planning strategies for ultra high net worth families. 

 

Ms. King received a B.A. from Doane College, summa cum laude with a double major in accounting and psychology, and a J.D. from New England School of Law, magna cum laude. She was an Executive Case and Note Editor for the New England Law Review.  She is a Certified Public Accountant, is admitted to the Massachusetts Bar, and is a Registered Life Planner. Ms. King is the immediate past-President of the Board of Trustees of Glen Urquhart School in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts, where she continues to serve on its Investment Committee.

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION

AAA-CPA continuing education programs are designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for credit both as CPE and CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state authorities determine the actual credit granted. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation requirements for this course.

Accounting CPE/Legal CLE/MCLE

The American Association of Attorney-CPAs is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its  website www.learningmarket.org.
