Program Title: Navigating the IRS
Presented by: E. Martin Davidoff, CPA, Esq.
Program Description & Learning Objectives
This session will cover how to represent your clients before the IRS, from the first phone call through the resolution of the problem. The program details the steps in a tax controversy, describes tools in dealing with the IRS, provides practical guidance in dealing with the IRS, and discusses alternative resolution scenarios in dealing with collection matters.  Handouts include numerous sample letters, such as penalty abatement letters, engagement letters, Examination Appeals, Request for Third Party Contacts, FOIA requests, and filled-in IRS forms (i.e., 2848, 8821, 9423, 12153, 911).
 
As the program is abbreviated (60 minutes), the tools covered live/on the webinar will include Collection Due Process Hearings (form 12153), Collection Appeal Requests (form 9423), Lien Withdrawals (form 12277).  The love program will cover new IRS initiatives such as Private Debt Collection, Passport Revocation and the Six Year Rule.  The live/online program will also cover a new important tool for tax controversy matters available under the 2019 Taxpayer First Act.

About the Presenter
E. Martin Davidoff is the National Managing Partner - Tax Controversy Practice of Prager Metis CPAs, a member of Prager Metis International.  Marty is a renowned expert in IRS and State tax controversy resolution as well as State and Federal income tax matters and Federal tax lien withdrawals. He has written over 30 articles on IRS representation in CPA Magazine and spoken on various tax issues on platforms including Fox News, WPIX and a number of radio shows. (M)CLE varies by state. Though we are accredited for (M)CLE in PA they will not accept webinars  for credit. If you require (M)CLE in a specific state, please send a request to info@attorney-cpa.com  prior to the program date and we will do our best to arrange for credit. Please note that most state bars will accept our Certificates of Attendance sent in by the attorney and NOT charge a fee. A general Certificate of Attendance will be made available for those professionals who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements and are able to self-file.
