About the Presenter

Petula Workman, J.D., CEBS, Division Vice President, Compliance Counsel, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.    

Ms. Workman graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a B.A. from the Plan II Honors Program. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center and is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist. She has extensive experience helping organizations comply with PPACA, ERISA, COBRA, cafeteria plan regulations, nondiscrimination requirements under Section 125 and 105(h) of the Internal Revenue Code, GINA, MHPAEA, HIPAA, and other legislative matters, such as FMLA and ADA, that impact employee benefits. She is also a frequent speaker for industry and human resources organizations, including SHRM, CPA, payroll, and other business organizations. 

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION INFORMATION

AAA-CPA continuing education programs are designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for credit both as CPE and CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state authorities determine the actual credit granted. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation requirements for this course.

Accounting CPE/Legal CLE/MCLE

The American Association of Attorney-CPAsis registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its  website www.learningmarket.org. A brochure with full details of the program is available from the association at 888-288-9272. These programs meet the NASBA standards of 1 (50 minute) hour of instruction.  If you require CLE in a state not mentioned, please call our national office and we will do our best to arrange for credit in your state.
