the Recent Tax Cuts

Presented by:

Daniel Leightman

Program Description

The new tax law has changed the Roth IRA game by introducing lower tax rates as well as new Section 199A providing an even lower tax rate for a large class of taxpayers.  The presentation will provide an overview of 199A and its role in 401(k) decision making and conversion to Roth IRAs as well as the use of pension/401(k) contributions to optimize the benefit of 199A.  The presentation will also discuss the potential advantage of a single 401(k) over the standard SEP and a potential independent contractor solution for achieving eligibility for a single 401(k) for small practitioners.

Learning Objective

  • Expand analysis of the role of  401(k)/Roth IRA planning under the new tax law.
