Course Description
The session will review the challenging topic of determining which damages are tax-free, which give rise to ordinary income and which may give rise to capital gain. Compensatory damages arising from physical injury are tax-free but often it is difficult to determine the origin of the claim. Timing issues and expense offsets will also be covered.
