Program Description

In this webinar session, we'll provide guidance for determining under what circumstances an online retail seller is responsible for collecting and remitting sales taxes, steps for getting clients in compliance with filing requirements and how to implement processes and use available tools to manage compliance.

About the Presenter

Joni Johnson-Powe, JD, CPA, is the Founder/CEO of Taxnologi Solutions, LLC located in Aurora, CO.  She has worked for over 18 years in federal and multi-state tax income tax compliance and consulting, sales and use tax, tax automation, and property tax compliance.    Joni has a specialized skill set in the sales and use tax automation arena.  She has served as project lead on several integrations and tax conversions for large Fortune 100 companies.  In addition, she assists start-ups and online retailers maneuver the complexities of nexus, multi-state filings, and VAT responsibilities. She has both industry and public accounting experience with Big Four firms and large national firms. Joni worked for several years in public accounting including with KPMG and Ernst & Young providing tax compliance and consulting services to clients in a variety of industries.   She is a wife, mother of 4 and native of Colorado.  Joni enjoys snowboarding and gardening in her free time.  

AAA-CPA continuing education programs are designed to meet the needs of Attorneys and CPAs and to qualify for credit both as CPE and CLE. Of course, the decisions of various state authorities determine the actual credit granted. There are no prerequisites or advance preparation requirements for this course.

*(M)CLE varies by state. Though we are accredited for (M)CLE in PA they will not accept Study Groups for credit. If you require (M)CLE in a specific state, please send a request to studygroups@attorney-cpa.com and we will do our best to arrange for credit. Please note that most state bars will accept our Certificates of Attendance sent in by the attorney and NOT charge a fee. A general Certificate of Attendance will be made available for those professionals who feel the program satisfies their continuing education requirements and are able to self-file.
