This didactic course is designed for physicians, non-physician providers, sonographers, and all other allied health care professionals who are currently treating or plan to treat patients with venous disease. The goal of this course is to provide a comprehensive overview of the venous anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, patient history and physical examination. To provide a clear understanding of venous duplex ultrasound, and a basic overview of lower extremity arterial disease, arterial testing and indirect venous testing. The course will cover the types of testing and treatment options for patients with venous disease and distinguish treatment choices based on patient presentation, compare venous ultrasonography with clinical anatomy and provide an overview of maintaining equipment information, facility and safety in phlebology organizations. Upon completion of this course attendees will be able to perform the major duties and tasks as listed in the outline content of the CCI examination.
