Conservators in Private Practice provides a forum for members to exchange information, suggestions, and tips on the exigencies, challenges, and rewards of running private practice conservation businesses.
Private conservation practices take many forms. Our members have or work in businesses across the United States providing high-quality care for art and historic artifacts. Many of our members work alone in individual practices, others work for larger companies with many employees. Many of our members work in small businesses that are woman-owned. Conservators in private practice are also active members of their local business communities.
Our members are highly trained in many technical specialties to provide the finest care to many kinds of objects including paintings, works of art on paper, photographic materials, books, textiles, furniture and picture frames, and sculpture in many media and many serve a wide range of clients including private collectors, corporations, museums, universities, and governmental agencies.
