Mary Free Bed found itself in dire straits in 2011. A deteriorating building, cramped patient rooms and noisy hallways had led to low staff morale and struggling financial performance. With survival as a key motivator, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital committed to building the high-performing workforce through unique recruitment tactics to ensure an appropriate fit with the right talent in a competitive marketplace. With new processes in place, Mary Free Bed increased its employee engagement score from the 59th percentile in 2015 to the 93rd . This session will focus on the unique recruitment and retention strategies that the Mary Free Bed team used to be able to grow and thrive, focusing specifically on our nursing staff.
