Description
The Bonny Method of Guided Imagery and Music (GIM) is a music-centered in-depth approach to therapy that uses selected sequences of classical music to support the generation of and movement through inner experiences. Students in this introductory training will experience both the Bonny Method and supportive music and imagery.
Participants will
Obj. #1: Facilitate relaxation inductions (CBMT Domain II.A.2.bd; II.A.5.j)
Obj. #2: Apply verbal and nonverbal processing techniques (CBMT Domain II.A.1.,b; II.A.5.h)
Obj. #3: Apply receptive music methods (CBMT Domain II.A.5.b; II.A.2.ao)
Schedule: 8:30 - 12:00, 1:30-5:30, 7:30-9:30 MTW; 8:30 - 12:00, 1:30-5:30 Thursday; (15" break morning and afternoon each day)
15 minutes - Overview & Orientation
540 minutes - Music & imagery experiences
540 minutes - Bonny Method of GIM experiences
600 minutes - Lecture and discussion
150 minutes - Demonstration
60 minutes - video
120 minutes- Inductions Lab
210 minutes - Group processing / Q& A
15 minutes - Evaluation*
