Description

Have you ever looked at a budget or financial report and wondered what all the numbers meant? If you want to get a better handle on your financial picture in business, or be able to talk numbers with the directors and CFO in your institution, then this course is for you!

Objectives:

• Participants will become familiar with key financial documents including Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet. (CBMT BCD IV.B.16.)
• Participants will set personal goals related to financial management. (CBMT BCD IV.A.1.)

Schedule:

  • 30 minutes - Introductions – What is your current Financial Knowledge base? What Personal Goals do you have related to financial management?
  • 45 minutes – Basics of Accounting Part 1
  • The importance of accounting software
  • Breaking down the Profit and Loss
  • Reviewing examples
  • 20 minutes -  Break
  • 20 minutes – Basics of Accounting Part 2
  • Understanding the balance sheet
  • 10 minutes -  Break
  • 20 minutes – Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • 35 minutes - Questions and Discussion – Update Personal Goals
