Sarcopenia and Interventions to Improve Function
October 5, 2020
12:00 – 1:00 pm ET

Sarcopenia is a critical topic due to the increasing number of individuals developing or being at risk for developing this condition after being discharged from the hospital or in conjunction with other factors such as aging and obesity. This webinar is aimed to discuss sarcopenia within various populations and conditions, as well as address treatment interventions including early mobility and diet modifications in order to improve daily function/living in these individuals.
Learning Objectives
1. Identify the evidence-based definition of sarcopenia and link to clinically meaningful distal outcomes
2. Describe sarcopenia in the obese individual and interventions that may impact functional outcomes.
3. Discuss risk factors for malnutrition and sarcopenia in a national representative sample of older adults.
