Media Studies/ Production Generalist

The Department of Communication, Media & Theatre Arts invites applications for a tenure track position beginning Fall 2012.  The Electronic Media and Film Studies program is seeking an assistant professor in the area of media studies and new media production. The successful candidate will be able to teach in the areas of media management, writing for the media and implementation of new communication technologies, as well as bring production skills applicable to the creation and distribution of web-based audio and video.

Required:  A minimum of two years of teaching experience is strongly desired. For appointment at the Assistant Professor level, a PhD or MFA is strongly preferred but ABD with a final completion date will be considered.

Responsibilities:  This new faculty member will be responsible for teaching a variety of media studies classes, including the introductory class, and working with faculty to develop and implement offerings in new media production.
The EM&FS program serves, on average, more than 300 majors and minors. The program area is one of three in the Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre Arts which is the largest department in the College of Arts and Sciences
