Event Description
Partnering with School Boards to Build a Quality Energy Workforce Pipeline
For much of last year, CEWD was part of the Commission to Close the Skills Gap, convened by the National School Boards Association (NSBA). They brought together the leadership of major business trade and membership organizations to advise school boards on ways to increase the readiness of young people to meet the needs of employers. From this effort has come a set of the highest priority LifeReady Skills (or employability skills) and recommendations for school boards, including how to create relationships with local employers.
NSBA’s Executive Director, Tom Gentzel and Heather Dean, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Operations Officer, will join CEWD’s Ann Randazzo to discuss why and how CEWD member companies can connect with their school boards to ensure today and tomorrow’s students are adequately prepared to enter the energy workforce.
Please contact Valerie Taylor if you have any questions.
