Diabetes is one of the most common, chronic systemic conditions in our nation. ICD-10-CM diabetes coding remains a challenging area for coding and clinical documentation improvement (CDI) professionals. Improving coding accuracy and specificity is essential for achieving compliance and data integrity.
Capturing the highest level of specificity while applying the coding guidelines will assist with telling the patient's story and reflecting clinical truth. Medicare now has a Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) that HIM coding professionals need to be aware of to remain compliant.
During this webinar, attendees will learn more about the disease of diabetes and its prevalence in the California population. Presenters will review key guidelines and Coding Clinic advice for obtaining accurate diabetes coding. There will be an opportunity for attendees to practice coding with case examples and scenarios.
