The Eastern Ontario Council of CMC-Canada is pleased to present “The Government of Canada’s Digital Future” with Alex Benay, Chief Information Officer of Canada.

A must-see event for anyone who provides consulting services to the Canadian federal government. Mr. Benay will present an overview of the Government of Canada’s direction regarding its digital future, his unique insight into the challenges that the Government of Canada faces and how they will be addressed.

About the Speaker:

Alex Benay is a Deputy Minister at the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and the Chief Information Officer of Canada.

He was recently named to Apolitical’s international list of the 100 most influential people in digital government. Alex is also the author of “Government Digital”, an in-depth look at how modern governments are tackling digital change. Most recently, he was appointed as a member to the Web Foundation’s Board.

Alex was a Vice-President at OpenText, where he played a leadership role in Canada’s digital industry, as well as in promoting the global shift to digital in organizations such as the G20, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and the Olympics.

He has also managed various teams and programs at the Canadian International Development Agency, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Natural Resources Canada, and Library and Archives Canada as well as serving as the President and CEO of the Canada Science and Technology Museums Corporation.
