OASSA AwardsOASSA sponsors three awards each year—the Assistant Principal of the Year, Middle School Principal of the Year, and High School Principal of the Year. For members wishing to nominate a colleague, please follow the following guidelines: Middle and High School Principal of the Year The process for this award begins in January. The award is given to one high school and one middle school principal each year. The nominee must be an active middle or high school principal, and a current member of NASSP and OASSA. The 2014 application can be downloaded by clicking here. For the first round of judging, nominees should complete all parts of the application, except the essay questions and one letter of recommendation. Please mail applications with one letter of recommendation from Immediate Supervisor/Superintendent to COSA staff member, Sara Nilles, by March 5, 2013. (Essay questions and additional letters of recommendation are not required for state judging.) The OASSA awards committee will select the winner, and that person will then complete the additional letter of recommendations and essay questions. The completed packet will then be mailed to NASSP by the end of April. The winner will be honored at the OASSA/OESPA Conference and the Annual COSA Conference.
