2017 Slit Lamp Microscopy Seminar

September 14-16, 2017

Hosted by Minnesota Lions Eye Bank

 

The Slit Lamp Microscopy Seminar is a 2-and-a-half day course designed for individuals who have begun to work with slit lamp microscopes and are interested in learning more about slit microscopy and gain experience using the microscope to evaluate corneal tissue. This unique seminar is designed to fit the needs of beginning eye bank technicians and includes lectures, demonstrations, and hands on experience. This course is intended as one component of a technician’s training in slit lamp microscopy. Prior to registration, please review the seminar details below. Please note that this event is open to EBAA members only and space will be limited to 20 attendees.

 

Preliminary Schedule (Times subject to change):

 

Thursday, September 14         8:00am - 5:00pm                                

Friday, September 15              8:00am - 5:00pm

Saturday, September 16          8:00am - 12:00pm

 

Criteria to Attend:

All attendees must meet the following requirements (EDs must sign off that an attendee meets the criteria):

  • Have worked at an eye bank for at least 6 months
  • Have used a slit lamp to evaluate at least 10 corneas
  • Currently work as an eye bank technician
    ‚Äč

Important:

Registration will be limited to a maximum of two people from one eye bank/organization. If more than two people from an organization would like to attend, the additional individuals may be placed on a waiting list and will be offered the opportunity to register if space is available.

 

Registration Fees:

EBAA Member (before June 30): $600

EBAA Member (July 1- August 11): $675

 

Registration Deadline:

The deadline to register is August 11. However, the class will be limited to 20 people. Once space has been filled, there will be a waiting list in case space opens up.

 

Travel:
Airline reservations should be made for arrival on or before Wednesday, September 13  and departure any time after  Saturday, September 16 at 4:00pm.

 

Hotel Accommodations:

There is an EBAA room block at the Commons Hotel. To book a room in the EBAA room block, call 612-379-8888 and ask for the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) rate of $153/night.  
Note: All unreserved rooms in the EBAA block will be released after August 11.

Cancellation Policy: 
A refund of 50% of the registration cost will be considered if written notice of cancellation is received in the EBAA office by July 1.  After July 1, no refunds will be given.
