Committees Leadership

The Florida Recreation and Park Association relies heavily on volunteer resources to carry out the programs of the Association.  Volunteers work countless hours, and we can not say thank you enough to the individuals who contribute their time and talent to assist in the delivery of services to the FRPA membership.

To you for all the work you do, we say Thank You!  To those who wish to become involved, we say Welcome and we look forward to working with you. 

  • Awards Committee
    The purpose of the Awards Program is to recognize and honor FRPA members who have rendered outstanding service to the recreation, park and leisure services field in the State of Florida.
  • Board of Directors
    The Board of Directors shall be comprised of the following elected officers: President, President Elect, Immediate Past President, Vice President of Finance, Vice President of Professional Development, Vice President of Member Resources, Vice President of Advocacy, Director from each Region. The Parliamentarian, and FRPA Executive Director, shall act as non-voting Ex-Officio Members of the Board of Directors.
  • Membership Committee
    Membership is the foundation of the Association. It is the heart of what we do, how we do it, and why we do it. Critical to the success of the Association is the retention of members and the recruitment of members. The Membership Committee will serve as the primary Association entity to achieve the goal of membership success.
  • Nominating Committee
    Nominating Committee of FRPA - responsible for the recruitment of members of the Board of Directors and the training of future leaders of the Association.
  • Strategic Plan - Community Building Workgroup
    This workgroup is responsible for implementing the initiatives and goals for the Community Building component of the Association's Strategic Plan. Specific work includes gathering research and resources to post on eConnect and be available to members, as well as promoting community building initiatives locally with parks and recreation agencies.
  • Strategic Plan - Economic Impact Workgroup
    This workgroup is responsible for implementing the initiatives and goals for the Economic Impact component of the Association's Strategic Plan. Specific work includes gathering research and resources to post on eConnect and be available to members, as well as promoting economic impact initiatives locally with parks and recreation agencies.
  • Strategic Plan - Environmental Sustainability
    This workgroup is responsible for implementing the initiatives and goals for the Environmental Sustainability component of the Association's Strategic Plan. Specific work includes gathering research and resources to post on eConnect and be available to members, as well as promoting environmental sustainability initiatives with local parks and recreation agencies.
  • Strategic Plan - Health Workgroup
    This workgroup is responsible for implementing the initiatives and goals for the Health component of the Association's Strategic Plan. Specific work includes gathering research and resources to post on eConnect and be available to members, as well as promoting health initiatives locally with parks and recreation agencies.
  • Training & Education Committee
    The Training and Education Committee will be responsible for developing an Educational Agenda for the Association. The agenda will represent content and delivery methods for Region meetings, statewide workshops, and the Annual Conference.
