Join us at the Appraiser Summit for 7 hours of appraiser con.ed. hosted by the Greater Lansing Association of REALTORS®! Registration will begin at 8 a.m.
Kick off the morning with Peter Christensen, General Counsel of LIA Administrators & Insurance Services out of California. He will be doing an Appraiser's Liability Course covering the most common sources and causes of professional negligence lawsuits against Appraisers. He will also touch on the importance of the Appraiser's work file and what elements of the work file are most relevant to liability prevention. (1912)
During lunch, Les VanAlstine of Accurate Inspections, will be speaking about inspection standards of practice, ancillary inspections, the inspection process, and covering any cases of instances that have come up while working out in the field regarding discrepancies. (1912)
Our morning session will run from 8:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
Finish the day strong with Rachel Massey, who is going to give a presentation on 'Avoiding the Repurchase.' Join Rachel as she provides information on areas of push-back, including not supporting adjustments and lack of adequate explanation.. She will be going over how the Fannie Mae Selling guide sets the stage for repurchase particularly related to the “unacceptable appraisal practice” section. Although we think that repurchases are a thing of the past, they are alive and thriving in the era of CU and “Big Data”. This will be an interactive class, so bring your questions! (1855)
Our PM session will run from 1 - 4:00 p.m.
