Title: Don't Be Fooled By Stories
Description: We love telling stories. Annual reports are full of them. Organizations work hard to get their stories in magazines and in front of as many people as they can. In fact it's how most organizations compete with one another. But are the stories that organizations choose to tell about themselves to funders true? In this session dive into how organizations are using stories to compete with one another, why this is leading to billions of dollars being wasted, and how data might just change everything.
Learning Objectives:
- How the nonprofit sector competes with stories
- How data is changing this through things such as Pay for Success
- How all funders can use data to help get more impact per dollar/return on investment
