AN  ILLINOIS ASBO PROGRAM IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE FACILITIES MANAGEMENT DESIGNATION PROGRAM

Gain even more knowledge and skills to bring back to your district by obtaining the Certified Plant Supervisor (CPS) certification.

The Certified Plant Supervisor (CPS) certification is for those working to become a facilities director or new directors looking to improve their leadership and management skills. Training will include the following topics: Leadership Development, Time Management, Effective Communication Skills and Front Line Management Skills.

This certification (offered in partnership with the Association for Facilities Engineering) is one of the fastest growing and most prestigious of its kind. Your certification will demonstrate that you bring skills and knowledge beyond the technical side of your profession — from the boiler room to the boardroom.

In addition, when you register for the CPS exam, you will also receive a complimentary one-year membership to AFE!


Topics Covered in Your Training Will Include:

  • The Role of the Supervisor
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Introduction to Finance and Budgeting
  • Leadership and Motivation
  • Time Management and Planning
  • Business Law
  • Interviewing and Hiring
  • Conflict Resolution, Team Building and Problem Solving
  • Safety


Time Commitment: Two day training course with an additional half-day of testing
Dates: October 15, 16 and 17

Tuesday & Wednesday
Registration & Refreshments: 7:30am - 8:00am
Group Review: 8:00am - 4:00pm

Thursday
Registration & Refreshments: 7:30am - 8:00am
Group Review & Test: 8:00am - 1:00pm
