Utilities Webinar-Overview of Municipal Water and Wastewater

This presentation will address the operation of municipal water and wastewater utilities. Topics will include the application of the Clean Water Act and National Pollutant Discharge System (NPDES) permitting, the sourcing and treatment of potable water, the operation of water towers and distribution lines, the treatment and discharge of wastewater, and common liability issues.

Speaker: Ian Williams

Ian Williams joined Practical Law from the County Attorney’s Office of Volusia County, Florida, where he was an Assistant County Attorney. His practice focused on a variety of local government matters, including land use, environmental compliance, transportation, utilities, and litigating Section 1983 and inverse condemnation claims. Previously, Ian clerked for Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit and was president of the Florida Trial Court Staff Attorneys Association. Ian has prior government experience with the Massachusetts Port Authority and the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Arms Control in Washington, D.C. and Geneva, Switzerland.
