Description: An introduction to what Artificial Intelligence is and how its use intersects with the ethics of the legal profession. Discussion includes ABA model rules:

- 3.1 “Meritorious Claims and Contentions.”
- 3.2 “Expediting Litigation.”
- 3.5 “Impartiality & Decorum of the Tribunal.”
- 4.1 “Truthfulness in Statements to Others.”
The topic also covers what elements to include in a city policy on the use of AI and a review of some sample city policies.
Speakers: Cathy Cunningham & Teneé Frazier
Teneé Frazier joined the Government Practice team of Thomson Reuters Practical Law after more than a decade in local government. Most recently she served as Assistant General Counsel with the Alabama League of Municipalities where she advised state and local government officials, employees, and attorneys on local government issues, including procurement, economic development, infrastructure, zoning, and code enforcement. Prior to that she clerked for Alabama's Fifteenth Judicial Circuit, the Southern Poverty Law Center, and the District of Columbia Office of the Attorney General. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar and the International Municipal Lawyers Association (IMLA).
Cathy Cunningham joined Practical Law with more than thirty years of municipal law experience. Cathy worked for the municipal law firm of Boyle & Lowry, LLP, where she advised municipal and special district clients on matters including utility and rights-of-way, zoning and land use, personnel, code enforcement, and budget and tax issues. Previously, she was an attorney in the Irving, Texas City Attorney’s Office, where her activities were later recognized by the Texas House of Representatives with a Resolution and a flag in honor of her public service. Before that, Cathy worked for the City Attorney’s Office for the City of Abilene, Texas.
