Dear Members,
The ISSTD Guidelines for Treating Dissociative Identity Disorder (Multiple Personality Disorder) in Adults was originally published in 1994, and again as a second revision in 2005, with the current iteration being published in 2011. These guidelines were based upon input from ISSTD (aka ISSD) members and task force members and reflected changes in research and other developments in the contemporaneous field over those years in each subsequent revision. We are, in fact, currently engaged in yet a fourth edition of these guidelines with an anticipated culmination in 2022-23.
The Virtual Book Club wishes to host a discussion of the existing guidelines that are posted on the ISSTD website with the intent of providing a keener understanding of the practice tenets our society deems important. This discussion can be of value for any member of ISSTD, but with a special emphasis on orienting relatively new members and clinicians in the beginning stages of learning.
We will begin our discussion on Monday 12/6 which will continue through Friday 12/17. Should you care to join us, please take some time to review the guidelines before 12/6 so we can have meaningful discourse. As with each of the three revisions, feedback from members is always welcomed and considered to be useful as input for our writers. This is why we invite all members, regardless of experience, as such a comprehensive undertaking requires an invested community.

The virtual book club is conducted online through a discussion platform which will allow participants in all parts of the world to participate at times that are convenient for them. Discussion will be led by our moderators Rick Hohfeler, Nicole Black, Dawn Hinton, and Joan Haliburn.
