for the 2019 Kentucky Truck Driving Championships

The Risk & Safety Management Council invites you and your family to Sparta, KY on May 17 & 18 for the 28th annual Kentucky Truck Driving Championships. Professional drivers from across the state of Kentucky are graded on their ability to assess safety defects in a pre-trip inspection, test their knowledge of the regulations in a thorough written exam, and apply their driving skills to a course guaranteed to challenge the best drivers. In addition to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place awards we recognize our Rookie-of-the-Year, the Best Pre-Trip Inspection, the Best Written Exam, Skills Course High Score, Team Champions and the Grand Champion. All First-Place winners may be eligible to represent Kentucky at the ATA National Championships in August.
Belterra Casino & Resort is taking reservations now. Classic guest rooms are $109, Deluxe are $129 per night. All Registration Fees are due Friday, April 13th so send in your reservation now.
Competing drivers must:
- Be based or licensed in Kentucky and in a driving position with current employer for least 12 months
- Have the proper license endorsement for class of participation chosen
- Have an accident-free driving record (preventable or non-preventable) for last 12 consecutive months
(Note: Incidents where the vehicle was legally parked or stopped in traffic do not disqualify)
- Drivers who have won his/her class two years in a row may compete, but must enter a different class
Contestants are prohibited from receiving any form of compensation for time spent in practice. Companies may reimburse drivers for expenses incurred in attending the competition, but such reimbursement is limited to the actual expenses for the participant and spouse. In addition, participation in the ATA Nationals is dependent upon company membership in the American Trucking Association.
Decisions of the judges and the KTA Driving Championship Committee are final.
