This one-day course, geared toward Correctional Officers, will be taught by Carolina Montoya, Psy.D., a Clinical Psychologist from Miami, Florida.  Dr. Montoya will:

1.      Review relevant material in the areas of mental health disorders, signs and symptoms of disorders related to suicidal behavior. 

2.      Review relevant material in the area of suicidal behavior; "suicide indicators".

3.      Discuss applicability of suicide prevention in correctional settings and operations.

4.      Discuss how agencies can maximize suicide prevention; developing a "suicide prevention plan."
