Event Description BY INVITATION ONLY. The
SEL Leadership Conference will bring together K-12 educators and advocates
from across Massachusetts
to review and discuss Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) findings, policies and
best practices. This limited-invitation
conference is being organized and sponsored by the Massachusetts School of
Professional Psychology, Teachers21 and the alliance of SEL partners.
Your school or collaborative is one of a select few identified as having made a
significant commitment to advancing social-emotional and behavioral health
goals in K-12 education. This unique
conference will provide valuable information, resources and networking
opportunities for all participants, and serve as a springboard for conference
sponsors to provide ongoing support to participating schools in the areas of
leadership and organization, curriculum, professional development and program
evaluation.
Keynote address by Roger Weissberg, President and CEO of the Collaborative for Academic,
Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), who will highlight recent research, practice
and policy advances in the field of social and emotional learning (SEL), and identify
classroom, school, and district approaches

Roger P. Weissberg, Ph.D., is NoVo Foundation Endowed
Chair in Social and Emotional Learning, LAS Distinguished Professor, and
Professor of Psychology and Education at the University
of Illinois at Chicago. He is also President and CEO of the
Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL), an
organization committed to making evidence-based social and emotional learning
an essential part of preschool through high school education (www.casel.org). Weissberg
has authored about 200 publications focusing on preventive interventions with
children. He received the "Daring Dozen" award from the George Lucas
Educational Foundation for being 1 of 12 people who are reshaping the future of
