Essentials of Executive Coaching: A One-Day Introduction
This program will provide a general introduction to the theory and practice of Executive Coaching, and its use and impacts on organizations. Topics will include:
1. The difference between Executive Coaching, other types of coaching and other helping and consulting professions.
2. The process of adaptive change (vs. technical change) and the potential impact on an organization.
3. Understand the structure of an Executive Coaching engagement.
In addition, throughout the day, students will experience and practice some of the tools of coaching.
Please note: This one-day class does not prepare students to coach or to be qualified to do executive coaching.

Sandy Machson, MSW, has over twenty-five years' experience as a human resources executive, leadership coach, and organizational development consultant. Her clients benefit from her in-depth knowledge of organizations, leadership, performance effectiveness and best management practices. Sandy holds a BA in psychology from the University of Rochester and an MSW from Smith College. She is an executive coach and has been on the faculty at William James College since 2012 teaching Skills and Practices in the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching program. She graduated from the Executive Leadership Program in Human Resources at Simmons College School of Management. Sandy is a professional Integral coach, certified by New Ventures West, an accredited ICF affiliate. In addition, she is certified and has more than 20 years experience using the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) and the DiSC personality instruments in individual and business settings.
Suzanne Boulos, MBA, is an executive coach and the Director of the Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching at William James College where she leads the only academic executive coaching training program in New England and is also a member of the faculty. Suzanne brings her business consulting background and experience to her executive coaching practice and partners with executives to explore and develop their full leadership potential and facilitate positive change, giving them and their organizations a competitive edge. Her successful mastery of cross-cultural skills provides an added dimension to her coaching in organizational settings, promoting increased reflection and enhanced communication and interpersonal skills in her clients. Suzanne holds an MBA from Boston University and an MA in Political Science from Northeastern University. She has a Graduate Certificate in Executive Coaching from William James College, is a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute, and is certified in a variety of assessments.
