Children with Challenging Behaviors: Helping Them Grow and Thrive

Event Description

Anastasia Galanopoulos, PhD, instructor

Recent studies suggest several novel approaches for helping children who exhibit impulsivity, hyperactivity and other problematic behaviors which interfere with their development, both in and out of the classroom. We will discuss causation and symptoms along with the promising success of strategic interventions and modifications of the environment. We will also explore how parents and other significant adults can become partners with professionals in working toward a common goal.

Anastasia Galanopoulos, Ph.D., is a child development and parenting education expert with a Ph.D. in Human Development and Family Studies. She has taught at Wheelock College and Pennsylvania State University. For over 15 years, she has taught students and professionals working with children and families, and led workshops in academic and community settings. Anastasia is the mother of three.
