Committee Structure

If you are interested in serving on Standing Committees or Task Forces, please contact the NAP office at (859) 514-9184, or the Committee Chair.  We welcome the participation of any Active or Emeritus member.

  • Council of the National Academies of Practice
    The function of the NAP Council is to make decisions affecting the direction and programs of the organization. It is made up of all the Academy Chairs and Co-Chairs and the Executive Committee and is staffed by the Executive Director. The Council meets face-to-face twice a year, usually during the Annual Meeting (March or April) and a Fall Meeting. In June and in December, meetings are held by conference call. Academy Chairs and Co-Chairs serve a two-year term and are elected by their Academy. Officers of the Executive Committee serve two-year terms and are elected at the Fall Meeting. Vice-Presidents and Standing Committee Chairs are appointed by the President-Elect and also serve on the Executive Committee.
  • Executive Committee
    The Executive Committee consists of five Officers: the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Secretary, and Treasurer and various Vice Presidents, including: VPs for Public Policy, Communications, and Membership. The Officers are elected by the Council and serve two year terms. The Executive Committee is empowered to make decisions for NAP between Council meetings provides leadership for NAP activities.

  • New Academy Task Force
    This subcommittee of the Membership Committee explores the possibilities for New Academies which might be added to the organization. Please contact the NAP office or the Task Force Chair if you are interested in adding your profession to the Academies of the NAP.
