Mindful Well-being for Social Workers
This course is for social workers who would like to develop new ways to foster their own well-being. Experience with mindfulness mediation is not required and all are welcome to attend. This is a 6-week, multi-session course. Each weekly session is 1.5 hours.
Course Description:
At a time where our mental and emotional selves are being challenged and exhausted, mindfulness for wellbeing offers strategies and practices that can be used day-to-day to promote happiness, calm, and balance. Social workers are often even more at risk of facing these challenges due to the nature of the work that you do. Join us as we explore and embrace a sustainable approach to honoring self and being well with intention.
This course, offered for convenience on zoom, introduces mindfulness practices and also includes the most current topics from the science of wellbeing and positive psychology. While some courses cover the importance of physical wellness, this class focuses socio-emotional and psychological wellbeing. The course integrates mindfulness techniques and meditations, teachings related to the science of well-being, individual reflections, and interactive exercise. These techniques are intended to foster your own well-being but we will also explore how these tools and brief practices might be used with clients.
