The NEAR Board of Directors has appointed Sharon Sarvela as NEAR’s Interim Association Executive, effective June 16, 2015.  In this capacity, she will manage NEAR's operations until a permanent CEO is hired.  In his announcement to the NEAR BOD that Sharon had accepted the interim position, NEAR CEO Brian Doherty said, “As you know I am fully confident that Sharon will do a great job steering the Association through this transition.  Sharon has worked at NEAR since 2002.”

Sharon will also continue in her role as Membership and Professional Standards Coordinator.  She will oversee the day-to-day operations of NEAR while reporting to the President and Board of Directors. 

The NEAR Board of Directors has worked closely with CEO Brian Doherty to ensure a smooth transition.  These decisive steps have included appointing a Search Committee, retaining Donna Garcia of the National Association of REALTORS® as the professional search facilitator, and posting the CEO position to numerous job sites as part of a national search.
