KEYNOTE PRESENTER: Hudson Hollister, Founder and Executive Director of the Data Transparency Coalition
The DATA Act: End of Manual Labor in Grants Management?
In 2014, President Obama signed the DATA Act, which promises to transform federal grant reporting by setting up government-wide data standards.  The government will announce the first standards in May 2015.  The transformation won't be easy--but if grant managers communicate the potential of data standards to federal leaders, we can banish manual labor from grants management. Mr. Hollister will talk about how data standards could allow you to replace copy-and-paste with automatic uploads.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PRESENTER:  Jeff Tobe

Coloring Outside the Lines™...
Creating the IDEAL Customer Experience

Jeff Tobe challenges you to step outside your comfort zone in positioning yourself more creatively than ever before. He will provide the insight you require to give yourself the 'competitive edge' for which we all strive by preparing an organization for 'THE CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE'.  Jeff teaches that there are four "realms" of an experience - entertainment, education, escape and estheticism - "mutually compatible domains that often co-mingle to form uniquely personal encounters". You will learn the steps required to ensure that your whole team is involved in engaging YOUR customer. You will also learn how to implement the experience for the “internal customer” as well. Most of all, this presentation will be fun and content-rich with tools to use the minute you leave the workshop.

GMBoK Training

Immediately prior to NGMA's Annual Grants Training Program, NGMA will offer a two day additional GMBoK Training session, from Monday, April 20 - Tuesday, April 21, to help individuals prepare for the Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) credentialing exam.  Registration and payment for the GMBoK Training is separate from registration and payment for the Annual Grants Training Program.  Registrants who attend the full GMBoK Training can earn a minimum of 14 CPEs.

GMBoK Training is a review of the full grants lifecycle, from Pre-Award to Closeout and Audit.  We will review the latest from OMB and its guidance on the Supercirculars dealing with Audit, Post-Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and other topics of interest.

Do you already have the CGMS credential? Attend NGMA's Annual Grants Training Program and/or GMBoK training session to get CPEs toward the requirements for recertification!
