Research studies show that Safe Routes to School (SRTS) programs are effective at improving student safety, health, and concentration at school, and improve community connectivity for walking and biking. Ohio's SRTS programs assist communities, schools, and advocates with developing and implementing projects and programs that encourage and enable children in grades K-8 to walk or bike to school safely. This workshop will be valuable in educating stakeholders in multiple community sectors, including health, transportation, regional planning, education, advocacy and economic development, about the impact of SRTS, policy adoption, program implementation, best practices, funding, guidance, and educational resources.
