High School Training in Natural Resources - Your Letters of Support Needed!

4/1/2016

Toledo Natural Science Technology Center, part of Toledo Public Schools, is trying to resurrect a technical degree in Natural Resources. Students will be trained in natural resource management, natural history and interpretation, forestry including urban forestry, and outdoor skills. In the past, many of their students ended up in our Ohio parks because they had the training and experience needed for our specialized careers.

They could use our help in the form of a letter of support and the need for such training directed to Dr. Romules Durant, Superintendent, Toledo Public Schools,
420 E. Manhattan Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43608-1267. He is interested in supporting industry needs with their technical schools and our industry has needs that aren’t being met by most colleges or universities.

You can find more information about the technical school at: http://www.tps.org/school/learning-centers/51-natural-science-technology-center

Please send your questions! It would be great to have students get the needed training for a park, forestry or natural resources career starting in High School.
