Event Description

Presented by WBNS 10TV and Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks

Join us as we examine ways in which we can maximize the impact of our social media output to meet our wider marketing and communications strategies.

Rachel Dean, digital advertising strategist from WBNS-10TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, will share the steps to a winning social media strategy tied to a broader marketing output, review ways of increasing engagement with the right audiences for our needs, and discuss methods for creating analytics goals and assessing their success or failure, allowing us to create more targeted communications to specific audiences.

We will also have a moderated panel discussion with representatives from the City of Tallmadge, Gahanna Parks and Recreation Department, Metroparks of the Toledo Area and Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks. The discussion will revolve around issues that all parks and recreation professionals face every day, such as how we use social media and what we believe or hope it can do for us, how we integrate it with other communications platforms (web/blogs/enews/print/tv/radio), what type of content works best for us and how we judge what is successful, editorial issues with social media content and who should be allowed to access and post to our social media channels.

Participants will have the opportunity to share their insights and tips on what works or doesn’t work for them as they use social media to tell their stories, and to ask burning questions. A projection system, laptop and WiFi will be available if needed.
