If you operate a park or recreation center then you have probably been asked to reduce expense and increase revenue at some point. With increasing pressure from political entities the requirement that park and recreation centers become more operationally self-sufficient is common. It is important to maximize all revenue opportunities that are available and conduct an operational assessment to assure you are keeping up with changing market conditions and operating trends to meet the challenge of less tax support and with the pressure to improve cost recover levels present. This workshop will highlight the steps in completing an operations assessment, explore methods for increasing revenue and introduce a self-evaluation tool to score your operating standards.

Establishing meaningful performance indicators are critical in assessing trends and creating measurement tools to evaluate your level of service standards. The performance measurements will focus on developing the specific indicators that create the tools necessary for evaluating the effectiveness of your park or recreation center operations. Efforts will be made to incorporate what other facility operators and session attendees are doing with revenue enhancement, operations efficiency and performance measures.
