Numerous highly processed and marketed “diet foods” abound to help us with the "quick fix". We have been told to choose foods that control sugar, fat, and calories but does eating this way really help our overall health? Isn't there more to nutrition than just carbs, fat, and calories? Think about what real food can gives our bodies like vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants! Ingredients in food AND their quality can absolutely make a difference in one's overall health. Where the rubber really hits the road is guiding people to get up close and personal with real food! It is our job to teach them how to shop affordably for real food and provide them tips for preparing real food dishes with confidence, zest, and zeal! It’s time to replace our voracious appetite for “quick fixes” with some wholesome REAL food.
- Participants will be able to cite the evidence backing why “EAT REAL FOOD” is a practical and doable message for teaching improved nutrition in today’s highly confusing media-cluttered world.
- Participants learn how to use the approach of "include each of these Daily Defender foods" so people inadvertently, (and painlessly) eat less processed food, swapped out for nutrient-rich real food.
- Participants will gain ideas for simplified cooking demos, including a method for immediately measuring attendees improved self-efficacy.
