PSA and U.S. Figure Skating are pleased to announce the Program Component Competitive Series, a coach-focused webinar series, covering the criteria for each of the five IJS Program Components.

“Interpretation,” our 3rd installment of this 5-part webinar series, will cover the criterion used to evaluate “Interpretation” as a Program Component. We will explore ideas on how to translate these criterion into tangible instruction and examine several examples that express the key concepts.

The Interpretation Webinar will be hosted by:

Shawn is an elected member of the International Skating Union (ISU) Ice Dance Technical Committee.  He is an  ISU Championship Dance Judge, ISU Dance Referee, ISU Dance Technical Controller, and U.S. National Dance Judge, Referee, Technical Controller, and Technical Specialist. Shawn is also a national Judge for Singles and Pairs and currently serves on U.S. Figure Skating Dance Committee, Athlete Development Committee and International Committee.

• Joe Inman. Joe is a former ISU Championship Judge, Technical Controller, Referee, U.S. National Judge, Olympic Judge, and on the OAC (Official Assessment Committee) in singles and pairs. Joe has a Bachelors and Masters Music Degree in Percussion and Piano and is a Professional Pianist, having played for the State Department, Congress and the White House Tea for First Ladies. Joe helped develop and co-authored the five IJS Component Criteria and has delivered 15 seminars as moderator for the ISU.

• Doug Webster. Douglas Webster is the Founding Artistic Director of Ice Dance International. In the past few years, Douglas has served as the Creative Director of the television show “Shall We Dance on Ice,” Artistic Director of Ice Theatre of New York, staff for U.S. Figure Skating’s Dance Camp and Components Camp, staff for Grassroots to Champions, and was nominated for both the PSA Gustave Lussi Award and F.
