Ramsey County Bar Association Elects New Officers and Leaders
Kelly Olmstead, criminal prosecutor for the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office, was elected Vice President of the association. She will lead the organization as president in 2015-2016.
Kelly Olmstead was previously in private practice with Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi. Kelly has been active with RCBA, serving on the Board of Directors, as well as the Communications, Judiciary, and Judges’ Dinner Committees. She is also currently co-chairing the Bench and Bar Benefit committee. She has held leadership roles in several local and national bar associations, in addition to her work on the MSBA Assembly and its General Policy Committee. Kelly has worked with the Second Judicial District’s Violence Coordinating Council, and has also worked on the Vulnerable Adult Justice Project. She is a frequent volunteer at William Mitchell College of Law. She serves as a mentor to both William Mitchell and St. Thomas law students, as well as a mentor for the MSBA’s mentorship program for new lawyers. She earned her B.A. from the University of Minnesota and went to William Mitchell College of Law.
Angela Brandt, a partner at Larson King, LLP in St. Paul, will become president on July 1. She focuses her civil litigation practice in the areas of commercial litigation, employment litigation, professional liability, and products liability. Thomas C. Plunkett, a solo practitioner in St. Paul, will become president elect. Brian McMahon, also a solo practitioner in St. Paul, will continue as secretary/treasurer.
Caryn Boisen, Larson King, LLP; Timothy Flynn, City of St. Paul; and Eric Larson, St. Paul Port Authority, were each elected to serve three-year terms on the Board of Directors.
The following members were elected to serve as representatives on the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Assembly: Hon. Robert Awsumb, Shawn Bartsh, Elizabeth Clysdale, Mark Karon, Elizabeth Keyes, and Thomas C. Plunkett. The following members were elected to serve as alternate representatives on the MSBA Assembly: Hon. Diane Alshouse, Michael Bradley, R. Leigh Frost, Kelly Lawton Rogosheske, and Elyssa Weber.
Charles Clippert will continue as RCBA Delegate to the American Bar Association.
