This course will present an overview on how to work
with difficult, unrealistic and demanding clients. We will review the
characteristics of a difficult client and the various precautions that must be
taken to avoid a complete breakdown of the attorney-client relationship. We
will also discuss ethical issues relating to dishonest clients and how to
professionally and ethically terminate the attorney-client relationship. We
will also cover how to lay out the "ground rules" and
"boundaries" so there is little possibility of misunderstandings or
communication problems with difficult clients.
