New Conversations about Race and Racism

June 21

Presenter: Rowzat Shipchandler,  Racial Equity Manager, Minnesota Philanthropy Partners

Racism is not a thing of the past. Discrimination is still a fact of life for many people of color and immigrants, especially in housing, employment and education. Disparities in income, educational achievement and representation in the criminal justice system have been created and are maintained by the complex set of conditions and relationships that result in institutional racism. Being aware of and able to talk about race and racism openly is a first step in being able to address it during the practice of law and administration of justice. Detailed description below.
