Instructor: Todd Arnette
Todd Arnette has been roasting sustainable coffee since 1995 and is the owner of Williamsburg Coffee & Tea. He is a Licensed Q Grader, an Instructor for the SCAA and a Member of the Roasters Guild and Barista Guild. He has cultivated several Direct to Farm relationships and custom blends and roasts for independent coffee shops and contract clients alike. In the roastery and teaching lab in Williamsburg, Virginia, Todd Arnette has served as a consultant for coffee professionals looking to further their cupping, barista, or roasting skills. Other services to clients include green coffee sourcing and evaluating for contract purchase.

4:00pm - 5:00pm – Use of Hand pour equipment
Day 2 (October 4):
8:00am - 12noon – CP101: Introduction to Espresso Part 1
1:00pm - 4:00pm – CP102: Introduction to Espresso Part 2
Day 3 (October 5):
8:00am-11:00am – GE103: Introduction to Cupping
12:00pm-5:00pm – Barista Level 1 Testing: Practical ONLY (separate FEE if did not purchase the ALL CLASSES package)
SCAA education is unique in that it is created by the collaboration of industry experts who might otherwise be considered competitors, working together to establish agreed upon knowledge and skills that truly represent the industry best practices. All SCAA classes may be applied toward one or sometimes more than one of our Professional Certificate programs, which indicate a high level of competence in knowledge and skills required for the various job positions in specialty coffee businesses. SCAA Education is an exceptional and affordable way to gain success in the specialty coffee industry.
This workshop is part of a pilot program, wherein SCAA and the network of independent SCAA Certified Teaching Lab partners are testing this type of event as a means to improve access and opportunities to pursue SCAA Education and Professional Certificates.
Education credits to be awarded upon completion of coursework and passing of appropriate tests.
