Digitization Series: Understanding Copyright

SEFLIN is offering a series of six webinars on Digitization. These webinars are based on the DPLA's Public Library Partnerships Project Curriculum, and are ideal for libraries looking to get a digitization project started or learn more about the process.

The Understanding Copyright webinar is ideal for information professionals who are new to digitization. This webinar will cover:

  • Identifying Public Domain Content
  • Identifying Content Under Copyright and Pursue Permissions
  • Orphan Works
  • Fair Use
  • Understanding Risk
  • Rights and Access Statements

This webinar will be presented by Laura Capell, the Head of Digital Production & Electronic Records Archivist at the University of Miami Libraries.  She is responsible for managing digital projects and for coordinating the Libraries’ electronic records archiving initiatives.
