(GMT-5)

Event Description

This two-hour live online class explores the concepts and structure of MARC21 for catalog records.

We’ll look in depth at the variable fields most commonly used in bibliographic records including new RDA fields, from the tags to the indicators and subfields. While typically for staff performing original and copy cataloging, this class will also help acquisitions, interlibrary loan, system librarians, reference staff and others working with (or searching for) catalog records. A variety of records will be reviewed and discussed, both from the OPAC viewpoint as well as a more technical display.

Handouts with readings, resources, and exercises will be provided for participants to complete on their own.

This webinar will be delivered via SEFLIN Connect. Log-in information will be emailed approximately one week before the course.
