Designed as an advanced class for experienced MEDLINE searchers. This hands-on class will highlight advanced PubMed techniques that can be used to conduct comprehensive searches. Through case studies, group exercises and hands-on practice, participants will become more efficient PubMed searchers. Attendees are encouraged to contribute past and present difficult searches to discuss with the class. This course has been approved for 3 hours of Medical Library Association Continuing Education Units.
Presenter: Sheila Snow-Croft, MLIS
Sheila Snow-Croft is the Public Health Coordinator at the Southeastern/Atlantic Region of the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, located at the University of Maryland in Baltimore. She provides education and training, exhibitions, and manages grant contracts for the NN/LM’s 13 state SEA region. She teaches classes online and in person, with a focus on public health information, and has been with the N/LM SEA since 2004. Previously, Sheila was a reference librarian for Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, and earned her MLIS and an MA in English from the University of Alabama.
