Taking Self-checkout to the Next Level

Yes! There is an app for that! Join us to look at a new innovative twist to self checkout - an app for user smart phones that allows users to self-check out right in the stacks.

Riki Donnelly from Martin County Library System will talk about using the MeeScan app with users and as a kiosk. During this interactive interview, he will bring the pros, cons and logistics of this innovative product. 

 

Presenters:  Riki Donnelly and Diana Silveira

 

Riki Donnelly has beenworking with the Martin County Library System for 5 years.  I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology Management and Cyber Security from Indian River State College. Prior to the library I worked in customer service and IT. 

 

Diana Silveira is the President of Novare Library Services, a company that focuses on web, mobile and infrastructure services for libraries. Previous to starting Novare Library Services, she was the Virtual Reference Manager for Florida’s Ask a Librarian Service and coordinator for Florida’s Statewide Delivery System. She presents regularly on implementing technology, best practices and privacy issues online. She also works with libraries to deploy new technologies and develop new mobile and desktop
