Event Description

This Education Institute Training Event is Sponsored by SEFLIN for our Members

Public libraries are an important community space for adults with developmental disabilities. Despite this, young people with developmental disabilities are often underrepresented in library programs. Learn how Burlington Public Library is using a community-led approach to create equitable library service for teens and young adults with developmental disabilities by listening to local families, collaborating with community, and empowering teen volunteers to create successful programs for their peers.

We will explore how we are building a welcoming and inclusive space for this demographic by adapting maker activities, facilitating multi-sensory experiences, and nurturing peer relationships.

Presenters: Heather Wray, Amanda Wilk, Meritt Harnett
