Introduction to Passphrases and Passwords
Privacy and Security Learning Cluster 

Join us for the first meeting of the Privacy and Security Learning Cluster. Our first meeting will cover the backbone of online security: passwords. Creating strong passwords and passphrases is the first, and most important, step in protecting your data and identity. This webinar will teach the basics of online privacy and security, and is open to everyone.   • Best Practices for Creating Passwords
  • Passphrases
  • Password Managers
  • Diceware
  • Tips for Teaching Others

 Learning Objectives:

  • Identify 3 tools to help store and create passwords
  • Create strong passphrases using diceware
  • Incorporate these tools and tips into existing classes

Presenter: Josh Stone

 Josh Stone is the Director of Digital Services for SEFLIN. Josh has over a decade of experience teaching technology courses to patrons and library staff. Currently he is a participant in the inaugural cohort of the Library Freedom Institute, a partnership between New York University and the Library Freedom Project to set up a network of online privacy advocates and trainers.
